A Little Bit About Daisy Field Farms

Daisy Field Farm is a family owned horse farm near White Haven, PA in the Western Pocono Mountains. It is a private farm and wildlife preserve where two generations of our family have grown up. At Daisy Field Farm you'll find horses, farm animals and abundant wildlife. We offer horseback riding, trail rides and other activities by appointment only. You'll enjoy fresh mountain air and beautiful scenery during your stay at Daisy Field Farm. We don’t allow hunting on our property so the animals are trusting of us and our horses. You can see wild deer, turkeys and other animals close up during your ride. Our rides are perfect for people of all ages and horseback riding abilities. All rides are accompanied by friendly, experienced trail guides. For the less adventurous, horse drawn wagon rides are also available. Our Horse Ridding Activates

A trail riding experience the whole family can share. Parents and older children each ride their own horse. Little kids and adults who prefer an easier ride accompany the group in a horse cart or carriage. All rides are supervised by experienced guides.

Ideal for children 4 through 10 years of age. A real trail riding experience. Ponies are hand led by experienced guides. A 15 minute or longer trail through field and forest. It’s not a typical round the ring pony ride .

We welcome “pony parties” for birthdays or other celebrations. Special rates for groups include picnicking and a visit with the farm animals.

Couples or groups of all sizes can enjoy carriage or hay wagon rides year round. When we have snow it’s sleigh riding time. We can arrange a bonfire or weenie roast with your ride.

A horse drawn wagon takes your group to the edge of an adjoining wildlife preserve. You will almost certainly see numerous deer and other animals up close. Your driver is also a wildlife expert and bird watcher.

There are free picnicking facilities for our customers as well as a visit with the farm animals.

Our Story

Mick Mertz and his wife Judy have managed the stables at Pocono Manor Resort for 35 years. Recently they have moved their horse operations to their farm near White Haven, Pennsylvania.

"We greatly enjoyed the last 35 years at Pocono Manor, but now we are excited about spending more time on our lovely farm. We will be running a somewhat different kind of horse business. Trail rides will be available for small groups only with more personal service. There will be a pony trail ride for small children as well. Wagon and Sleigh rides will be offered for groups of all sizes. Old friends and new clients should call for an appointment. "

Horse Trail Rides FAQs

Do I Have To Be An Experienced Rider To Take A Trail Ride?

Absolutely not! Beginners are more than welcome to attend our trail rides. Our horses are very gentle and well trained.
If I Have Never Ridden A Horse Before, Is There Training Beforehand?

Before every trail ride, we demonstrate basic horse riding skills such as mounting and steering a horse. We are focused on the safety of our horses, as well as the group and ensure everyone is comfortable during the trail ride. Keep in mind that our horses only walk during the trail rides, also, if you have any questions along the way, we are there to help.
Do I need to be physically fit to take a trail ride?

While you do not need to be an athlete to take a trail ride, participants should be fit enough to mount and dismount the horse. We also have mounting blocks. Keep In mind if you have a hard time getting around for what ever reason the ride may not be the best fit for you We do not have weight requirements as we have horses that can cater to all.
Are There Weight Or Height Restrictions?

We have horses that can cater to a wide range of riders. Please provide the weight and height of each rider when purchasing your tickets, so we can match each rider with the perfect horse. Keep In mind if you have a hard time getting around for what ever reason the ride may not be the best fit for you.
